CWRU FREE Wellness Activity:  Tai Chi

As we prepare for the new school session, learn techniques to reduce stress with our August CWRU Employee Wellness Activity, Tai Chi, lead by Certified Wellness Coach and Tai Chi instructor, Steve Zimcosky.

Tai Chi involves self-paced, slow, rhythmic, gentle movements designed to connect the mind and body.  By focusing on these movements and breathing, you will experience a reduction in stress and tension.

There are also many other health benefits associated with Tai Chi, including:

  • Decreased anxiety
  • Decreased depression
  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Relief of chronic pain and/or stiffness
  • Improved sleep
  • Improved balance and agility, with decreased risk for falls
  • Improved strength, conditioning, coordination and flexibility
  • Increased energy
  • Increased cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic and digestive function
  • Improved awareness, calmness and overall sense of well-being

The CWRU Wellness Program success is dependant on employee interest and support.  Register below and please invite your co-workers to join you!

Please also join us for our other August Wellness events, including the Aug. 19th  "Exercising the Mind / Mental Health" wellness seminar and the Aug. 20th "Brain Food" cooking demonstration.
