The purpose of this day-long workshop is to provide an inter-professional definition of learning that may be effectively applied to classroom instruction. The definition of learning from neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and language will be provided by professionals in those three areas. These definitions of learning will then be applied to four areas of education: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), dyslexia, mindset, and autism. Participants will enjoy a moderated panel discussion about learning followed by attending a choice of break-out sessions. The break-out sessions will be across the four strands: TBI, dyslexia, mind-set, and autism. Participants may choose to remain within a strand of break-out sessions for the day or may choose to attend different strand sessions. At the end of the day, the moderator will summarize the day and make suggestions for future steps.
