"Back to Summer" Breakfast; April 20, 7:30am

Care about education and closing the opportunity gap for kids? Join us for the "Back to Summer" breakfast at Southern NH University, meet our students and teachers and learn more about Breakthrough Manchester's award-winning program. With a 25-year history of excellence in developing learners, teachers and leaders, and an exciting announcement to make, we have much to celebrate!

Many thanks to our "Valedictorian" sponsor, Cityside Management Corp. for their generous support for this event - and for their leadership in closing the opportunity gap.

Since 1991, Breakthrough Manchester (formerly Summerbridge) has tackled the achievement gap from two sides.  On the one hand, we provide a three-year, tuition-free summer-intensive program for motivated, high-potential middle school students with limited opportunities.  On the other hand, we train and inspire college undergraduates to pursue a career in education, particularly in under-resourced schools and communities.  The Back to Summer Breakfast is our largest single friend- and fund-raising event of the year.

Breakthrough Manchester is the only site in Northern New England affiliated with the award winning, national Breakthrough Collaborative, recognized by The Princeton Review (Top Ten Internship in America, 2003); Columbia University (Klingenstein Leadership Award, 2007); Center for Summer Learning (Excellence in Summer Learning and Leadership, 2008); and the Drucker Institute (Nonprofit Innovation Prize, 2010.)

About Breakthrough Manchester

In partnership with the Manchester School District and the City of Manchester, Breakthrough Manchester was initially established as a program of The Derryfield School as a service to the broader community.  Today, Derryfield continues its extraordinary commitment to Breakthrough by hosting the summer intensive and school-year Saturday sessions on its beautiful north end campus at no cost to the program.  Breakthrough Manchester's annual operating expenses are supported through the donations of individuals, foundations, associations, companies and faith communities who believe in our dual mission.  For more information, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or view our most recent Annual Report.  For information about sponsorships of this or other events, visit our Sponsorships page.
