Beginners Weaving

Colors of the Sea

This is a beginners weaving class geared towards ages 10 and up. We will use a small notched cardboard loom to create a beautiful work of art. Six colors of soft yarn are provided, as well as a 6” easy-to-thread, large eye plastic needle. We will learn four simple weaving techniques, which include: Tabby, Soumak, Interlocking and Rya knot.

This event is for individuals being served by the Blackstone Valley Family Support Center and their families.

Pre-registration is required. Space is limited. You may register yourself and up to 4 additional participants per party.

The instruction is free, however, you will need to purchase the Colors of the Sea supply kit in order to complete the project in this workshop. Due to space limitations, we ask that only those who purchase a kit register for this workshop.

Kits are $15 (cash only). Upon registration, you will receive a Zoom link along with instructions on picking up your supplies.
