There are over 70,000 people in Fairfax County living in poverty. Do we really know what that's like?
Most of us have experienced limited resources and struggled at one time or another but somehow we had to tools - such as education and family support - to overcome our obstacles. What if you didn't have those tools?
Family PASS invites you to a very special opportunity--a role playing simulation to promote understanding and action around living in poverty in our community. Each attendee will assume a specific role within a small group of four so if you respond "yes" please make sure you add it to your calendar. If for some reason you need to change your plans, it is important that you please notify us as early as possible so we can find a substitute for you.
During the 90 minute intense simulation, Fairfax County's Community Action Asvisory Board will engage participants in a personal experience, providing you the opportunity to walk briefly in the shoes of someone living in poverty.
Through facilitated role-playing, you will experience the stress and chaos of trying to survive with limited resources as a single parent, an adult with a disability, a child, an unemployed adult or a family.
