January 31, 2023: Conflict Resolution
Description: This hands-on program will present some of the most common causes of conflict in the workplace today, and how we can identify and work towards solving them. We will discuss how much conflict is costing your organization and how you, as a leader, can help to lower that cost.
Goals of this workshop:
- Be able to identify conflict in your organization
- Develop skills necessary for solving the conflict (self as mediator and manager as mediator).
- Understand and practice some strategies for avoiding conflict
- Learn about other resources for managing conflict
Presenters: Elaine Dickhoner has been a mediator and arbitrator for over 20 years. The company she founded, The Conflict Management Group, provides conflict resolution services and training to businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations. Additionally, Elaine is a co-founder of The Greater Cincinnati Conflict Resolution Program(GCCRP) which will be providing mediation services, outreach efforts and community education programs in conflict resolution for youth and adults. She has been involved with non-profit groups for many years and has served as a board member for the National Association for Community Mediation, the League of Cincinnati Theatres and Circle Tail, among others. She is also a OneSource Center volunteer consultant.
Janna Kessler is a trained mediator specializing in family conflict. She has worked in school and health care settings. She is a Greater Cincinnnati Conflict Resoultion Program volunteer and is active in starting their truancy-prevention program. She has been involved in the start-up activities for GCCRP and is serving on the planning committee for after school programs. Janna is a graduate of Ohio University and is the proud mother of three young daughters.
