Whether you're working to eliminate the demand for s*x trafficking or someone you love is personally affected by s*xual addiction, this Core Issue Addiction Recovery (CIAR) Training will give insight into what drives the addictive condition and equip participants with the tools to help those on the recovery journey.

Did you know...

• 87% of addicts come from disengaged families – detached, uninvolved, or emotionally absent.  
• All compulsive and addictive behaviors are signs of significant intimacy disorder and the inability to get needs met in healthy ways  
• Common to all addictive/compulsive behaviors is a history of trauma and abuse (PTSD)
• Addictions and compulsions become a way to manage stress and may include repeating the trauma compulsively
• S*xual addiction has at least 16 presentations and 83% of s*x addicts present with 4-5 co-occurring addictions;
• Eating disorders, workaholism, codependency, body image issues, romance obsession, drugs and alcohol, internet and process addictions may also have underlying s*xual issues that are not being revealed or addressed
• Only 12% of churches minister to s*xual addiction and even fewer understand trauma model recovery

Participants will be directed though the L.I.F.E. Recovery Guide for Addictive Behaviors (including s*xual addiction) throughout the training as well as the CIAR Training Handouts.  Participants are encouraged to purchase their own workbook and may choose to purchase or print handouts prior to the event.  The CIAR Training Handouts are also made available to participants through a downloadable link for continual access to updated materials and future ministry use.
