Application of the Criteria contained in the Baldrige Framework is designed to help organizations improve and achieve role model levels of performance and outstanding results. The Baldrige Framework provides practical approaches for continuous improvement that serve as the cornerstone for leadership and organizational success.

This two-day session in Madison is led by Steve Hoisington, author, former national Baldrige judge, long-time facilitator and consultant, and former Wisconsin Forward Award board member. Steve brings a diverse background of business management and business improvement consulting in a variety of industries including manufacturing, service, non-profit, health care,education, and small business.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert in the field, plan on joining us in Madison for two days of learning and sharing that will help your organization set the framework for success.

About Steve Hoisington

Mr. Hoisington is a retired vice president of quality and safety at Flowserve, Inc., in Irving, Texas, a worldwide organization that provides engineering, project management, products, and service expertise for the challenges of fluid motion control. A recognized senior level executive for many years, he was the president of Electro-Motive Diesels Locomotive Company (EMDLC) in Pretoria, South Africa, vice president of India operations at EMD Locomotive Technologies Pty. Ltd. in Delhi, India, vice president of quality and reliability at Electro-Motive Diesels, Inc. in LaGrange, Illinois, senior vice president of operations for Exel, Inc.. in Bracknell, United Kingdom, and vice president of quality for Johnson Controls, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI prior to joining Flowserve in 2012. Entering the field in 1979, Mr. Hoisington was hired by IBM as an engineer and progressed his career up to director of quality and customer satisfaction over the next 20 years.  He was intrumental in writing IBMs application for the Baldrige National Quality Award.

Mr. Hoisington co-authored two books “Customer Centered Six Sigma: Linking Customers, Process Improvement, and Financial Results” and “Implementing Strategic Change: Tools to Transform an Organization”.  

Currently serving on the board of directors for the University of Wisconsin-Stout since 2015, Mr. Hoisington is also the past chairman of the board of directors of the Wisconsin Forward Award and a past board member of the Minnesota Council for Quality.  He chaired the Juran Medal committee for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as well as served on the ASQ Medal committee.  He served as an examiner and senior examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for the National Institute of Science and Technology from 1993 to 2011.  Mr. Hoisington is a former appointed judge of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.  He assisted with organizational improvement assessments in New Zealand, India, Europe, Mexico, Canada, and other parts of Asia.


About Wisconsin Forward Award

Wisconsin Forward Award is Wisconsin's premier performance excellence recognition program. Modeled after the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, WFA uses the Baldrige Framework as the basis for assessment, recognition, and feedback reports. The Framework represent the benchmarks for management excellence across the country and around the world. Registration information 

Fees are $550 per member, $650 per non member. For those attending in groups of three or four, apply code GROUP3OR4 to receive a $25 discount per person. For those attending in groups of five or more, apply code 5ORMORE to receive a discount of $50 per person. Fee includes meals, breaks, course materials, and a copy of the new 2019-2020 Criteria, (a $30 value).  Space is limited, and we anticipate this seminar to sell out quickly.

 

 

Cancellation policy: WFA will refund the registration fee less a $25 administrative fee for any participant who cancels registration by February 25, 2019. No refunds can be extended after that date; however, registrations are fully transferable at any time prior to the training date. Registrations must be received by February 24, 2019
