On the Corner of Past and Present:

Responding to Trauma in Self & Others

with Elizabeth Power

Launching the new Sage-ing International Webinar series for 2019, Elizabeth Power of Nashville leads an inquiry into coping with trauma. For those experiencing crisis themselves, and for their caregivers and friends, it's an opportunity to reflect on the Sage-ing core topics of life review, mortality, forgiveness, and the "severe teachers" we all must meet.

In this webinar, you’ll come to...
1. Learn why the impact of an event over time is more powerful than its name.
2. Recognize three personal treasure-troves of insulation against the effects of overwhelming events in life.
3. Discuss the impact of traumatic experiences on functioning.
4. Learn five techniques for mastering the impact of the past on the present.
5. Recognize how you can help others to heal in ordinary, non-intrusive, ways, without the added burden of telling our own stories.

Join us for two hours of solid, proven everyday knowledge and skills in an intellectually stimulating and practical environment.

ELIZABETH POWER is an internationally recognized speaker, facilitator, and healer. She founded The Trauma-Informed Academy
and is adjunct instructor in Psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical Center (DC). She has helped people around the world reframe their understanding of overwhelming events and how they impact us across the lifespan, focusing
on how we can increase compassion and care without pathologizing.  An SI member, Elizabeth teaches 2,000+ people each year how to shift from “what’s wrong?” to “what happened?” with humor, grace, and dignity.
