ASA's Inaugural Conference held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel on Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 2019 will focus on sessions that highlight our current involvement in healthcare.  This includes current barriers to access and strategies to remove them, business management, research, and advocacy training for a day on Capitol Hill with your elected officials. On Monday, June 3rd, we are planning another congressional briefing, demonstration of acupuncture, and a Health Fair on Capitol Hill.  Please join us for these exciting events!  Our Health Fair will offer an opportunity to educate more broadly on all the tools of our medicine.

Refund Policy: Cancellations received within 7 days of your registration are eligible for full refund minus $50 administration fee, before May 1, 2019.  Cancellations received more than 7 days of your registration are eligible for 40% refund before May 1, 2019.  No refunds available for cancellations after May 1, 2019.

PRELIMINARY AGENDA

Join the ASA as we hold our second congressional briefing Monday, June 3, 2019. This year's event will focus on acupuncture and its uses with our active-duty military personnel and veterans. We will honor our military members and demonstrate acupuncture during this briefing. Before and after the briefing, ASA will make appointments for members of the industry and profession to meet with their Congressional representatives and their staff to put their legislative asks on the table and into motion. That afternoon we will follow up with a Health Fair designed to display all of the tools we have in our medicine as we offer Congressional staff delicious and nutritious healing foods and herbs.

Qi Gong 

Qi Gong will be lead on Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 7:00 am by instructor, David Peters L.A.c. Enjoy a nourishing start to our days together with this treasure of Chinese medicine!

The conference will be held at the beautiful Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. Situated on eleven lush acres in the Woodley Park neighborhood next to the National Zoo, the Omni Shoreham has hosted presidents, world leaders, and inaugural balls, making it one of the most prestigious venues in the District of Columbia.

Along with plenty of dining options and activities in the area, the Omni Shoreham also has in-house world class dining options and an onsite luxury spa.

The hotel is within sight of the Red Line metro, providing easy access to the whole city for sightsee and getting to the Capitol for acupuncture on the Hill.

The ASA has secured a very special hotel sleeping room rate of $179/night! Reservations can be made by calling 1-800-THE-OMNI and referencing the American Society of Acupuncturists or using our group web page.

Reservations must be made by May 9, 2019 in order to secure the special ASA rate. After that, all attendees will pay the full rate for the hotel which can average much higher depending on the time of the year and day of the week and is subject to change. Conference Registration DOES NOT constitute arrangements with the hotel. Please make your hotel arrangements separately and directly with the hotel. THERE IS A LIMITED ROOM BLOCK AVAILABLE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS.  ONCE THIS BLOCK IS GONE, THE SPECIAL RATE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE!

During our stay, we will also be participating in the Say Goodnight to Hunger Campaign through the Omni Shoreham Hotel.

Special Events

Join us at 7am on Saturday & Sunday Morning for qi gong on the terrace grounds. Wake up and revitalize before the General Sessions begin!

Saturday evening, we will also host our Welcome Reception in the Exhibitors Hall.

Monday we will meet early on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for a group photo, and then proceed to lobby our Congressional Representatives and Senators on the Hill. We will hold a briefing for Congress in the afternoon and close our day with our Health Fair.

All events are free to attendees but require registration. Make sure you sign up when you register as space is limited for some things.
