Mardi Gras at the New Haven Free Public Library 

Mardi Gras is a fun, festive celebration of New Haven — an evening full of delicious food and drink, live music and entertainment, and a Mardi Gras parade — all to support the incredible work of a community treasure: your public library.

Mardi Gras returns to Mitchell Library in the heart of Westville Village on March 5, 2019! New this year, we'll be celebrating the Freedom to Read with food, drink, and entertainment highlighting banned and challenged books. We invite you to draw inspiration from this theme for your Mardi Gras costume or mask!
