IFMA San Diego Sustainability Committee Presents: Gensler Studio

Learn how Gensler collaborated with Irvine, the consultants and contractor to create an innovative tenant improvement that integrates natural ventilation, LEED Platinum and WELL Gold certifications.  The presentation and tour will include:
  • Project overview
  • Description of goals and objectives
  • How research and testing informed the design
  • Value of integrated systems
  • Importance of integrated process

Biographies of Presenters:

Steven Shinn, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, AssociateSt

Steven is project manager/project architect with over 25 years of experience in all phases from master planning to construction administration on facilities promoting social, cultural and educational advancement.  He is adept at juggling multiple projects and complex, integrated teams with excellent communication and consensus building skills. 

Jeff Thaxton, AIA, Associate

Jeff is a project architect who manages a wide range of commercial and office projects.  He coordinated the documentation and construction of the Gensler Studio, including the extensive self-performance phases of the construction.  He is intimately familiar with the design and execution of the studio.

Kendra Kettelhut, RID, LEED AP ID+C, WELL AP

Kendra, is a thoughtful designer who strives to marry authentic, meaningful design with function, sustainability and creativity. Human centered design is her focus. Kendra has experience designing and executing a variety of project types, such as, retail, global headquarters and corporate campuses, with a focus on commercial interiors. Through an understanding of workplace strategy and spatial implications she is able to craft unique design solutions for each project.

Registration Fees:

San Diego Chapter Members - complimentary (Membership will be verified) 
First Time FM Attendee - complimentary (Previous meeting attendance will be verified)
Non Members - $15 per person
Biocom Members - first 5 complimentary

Cancellations: Due to rising catering costs, cancellations MUST be received a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the event to receive a full refund.  Those making a reservation, but not attending the event/meeting (“No shows”) will be charged a $15 No-Show fee. 

Please note:
  • Only IFMA San Diego Chapter Members may register on a complimentary basis.  Colleagues of chapter members (unless they are a FM and this is their first chapter meeting) must register as a non member and will be charged the non member fee.
  • If a IFMA San Diego member registers a guest and that guest does not attend, the member will be charged the $15 No-show fee for their guest.
  • Because of hotel and planning requirements, no registrations will be taken after the deadline. Walkins may be accessed a $30 late registration fee.
  • Members who can not attend are not allowed to transfer their complimentary lunch to a non-member, even someone from their own organization.
