Welcomes Jane Iseley

Women’s Resource Center in Alamance County is pleased to present Jane Iseley, owner and operator of Iseley Farms. This family farm has been in operation since 1790 and recognized as a premier local North Carolina farm.  Through the years, Iseley Farms has produced tobacco, fruits and vegetables, as well as grazing pastures and feed for cattle. Today, this local produce farm within the Alamance County Agricultural District is recognized as a North Carolina Century Farm; was awarded 2013 North Carolina Farm Family of the Year, and is a member of The Forestry Stewardship Program. As a Conservation Farm, the Piedmont Land Conservancy permanently protects Iseley Farms.

Jane’s diversified farm presently consists of strawberry plants, a variety of summer and fall vegetables, along with a cow and beehive operation.  Jane’s goal with the farm is to continue to “go green”, increasing their organic production and focusing on their local presence in the community. She advocates that the decision to eat locally is an act of conservation, where we “put a face” on the foods we eat. This dynamic woman was also a 2014 Leading the Way nominee, honoring and recognizing the exemplary achievements and leadership of women in our community.
