Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'n Roll

The authors describe the treatment of a very disturbed late adolescent to illustrate the “two-systems approach” to understanding sadomasochism, omnipotence, drug use, academic failure, and developmental stalling. The authors apply the two-systems model of self-regulation, concurrent work with parents, and various techniques for addressing tenacious pathology.
