Resource Development for the Reiki Community

’You cannot  restore ecology without restoring human beings’

What is the Offer to the members of our Reiki community?

In less than two generations, Reiki has grown into a global spiritual movement.   As a practice, Reiki helps bring alignment with the natural order for those practicing. More and more Reiki students are realizing that this alignment also has larger significance.  It is what our communities need to nurture harmony among people. It is what our nations need to promote peace and justice in the world.  And it is what humanity needs to create a healthy relationship with our planet. The Reiki movement is in a very good position to help with all of these needs if it can find an effective way to think and work together on them.

Resource Development for the Reiki Community is an ongoing series of workshops for Reiki students who wish to deepen their ability to serve their communities.  In Resource Development participants work on growing themselves so that they can help others realize more of their potential. This Resource Development is a discipline designed to bring greater alignment between the wisdom of the body and caring of the heart and the power of the human mind. Using frameworks that are drawn from living systems, each person can better understand how nature works. This work is for people who are committed to serving the evolution of the Reiki community and the transformational contribution it can make in the world.

’In the past years I have met Ben Haggard and his work about regenerate thinking in different groups.  His way of using frameworks gives me the tools to find deeper understanding of natural forces and reconnects me with my own nature on new levels.

Since Reiki is not only my daily practice but also my daily work I reach out more and more to the larger community.   Not losing myself, but from out my inner centre. To serve the Reiki community gives me insight into my own potential.  Ben’s work lets me see that this is a preparation for a larger scope of work:  to reach out to the world for the future of human beings, with Reiki in my hands and heart with my focus on the whole.   I  have decided to give my time and skills to the creation of healthy living communities.              Rebecca Bredenhof

Ben Haggard is a consultant, artist, teacher, and author living in Santa Fe, NM.  For 35 years he has dedicated himself to helping people use land and community design to create more harmonious relationships among humans and ecosystems.

He co-founded the Regenesis Group 20 years ago, for the purpose of engaging in a deep inquiry about how people think, and how this affects the world they are able to create.  Through the use of living systems framework, the members of Regenesis have worked on major community development projects throughout North and South America, and around the world.  Ben is currently focusing much of his time on training students in North America and Mexico in the application of the work pioneered by Regenesis to community planning.

Through his lifelong friendship with Phyllis Furumoto, Ben began working with the Reiki Foundation International and its stakeholder community about five years ago.  The purpose was to help this community become more effective at working together in order to take on the ambitious projects it was beginning to envision for itself.  Through this work, he hopes that Reiki as a global community can make significant contributions to the large scale social and ecological changes that are needed at this time.

Ben has been asked by some of the continuous participants of the RFI programs if he would open his schedule for a Resource Development Program.  His response, in answer to the demand, was to open two programs.  One, starting at the end of October, 2015, in the Netherlands and one in Oregon USA beginning in February 2016.  Both starting programs span a 10 -12 month period and have the possibility of extending for more years.

These programs are open to Reiki students of all forms of practice and levels of initiation.  Each participant must be willing to invest themselves as Resources in their local communiities or with a global network to further the work of Reiki as a resource for healing on an individual level as well as a planetary contribution.
