2019 Agricultural Conservation Technical Training Boot Camp Level II

TARGET AUDIENCE
Appropriate for those who attended a Basic training held at Fort Indiantown Gap in the years 2000-2018, those who attended one track of level II last year and would now like to attend the other, and those with 1 to 3 years of professional experience.

Please note: Boot Camp is not a two-week course. The instructors prefer that you use the information you learned in Basic for a year and take Level II the year following Basic. This is not a 2-week course. Do not apply for Basic and Level II in the same year.

If you do not receive confirmation from PACD, you will not be admitted. No walk-ins will be accepted. 

COURSE CONTENT
General (provided to all): Conservation Planning and Ag Waste System Planning -  plus the topics covered by your "track."

FEES
Participant registration fees are waived. Funding is provided through a Special Leadership Development Project Grant, sponsored by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the State Conservation Commission.

LODGING
All participants may take advantage of the room block rate, but only conservation district staff will be reimbursed (as funds allow) by PACD for their overnights.

Rate: $91.02 (includes tax) for 2 double beds. You must ask for the "PACD Room Block/Group Number 3608532" when making your reservation. The room block expires on April 18.

PACD will reimburse the conservation district (up to $91/person/night) AS FUNDING ALLOWS for the lodging of those whose office is more than 45 miles away from Fort Indiantown Gap. Monday through Thursday evenings only. Please note: there may not be sufficient funding to fund all four nights for every district employee. 

The training itself will be held at the Keystone Conference Center at Fort Indiantown Gap.

MEALS
Lunch will be provided. Breakfast, snacks, and dinner will not be provided. A complimentary hot breakfast is available at the Comfort Inn. Please plan to bring your own snacks and refillable water bottle.

OPTIONAL TOUR
There is an optional forestry tour at Ft. Indiantown Gap on Monday, April 29 from 4:45-6:45pm. In order to participate, you must complete and return a General Release Form to Shannon Wehinger at swehinger@pacd.org. Please submit a completed form even if you aren't sure if you will attend or not.
