2018 Icicle Races 

Relax—we live in Texas and the truth is, we rarely see icicles hanging around!  Our year-round moderate temperatures make it possible to sail in January, which means our sailors and students get to practice and perfect their skills even in winter. So start your year off right with sailing! Put your weekends into high gear and come over to South Coast Sailing Adventures and join us for the winter day sails every Saturday! During the day sail, we will be participating in an informal race on Galveston Bay. These informal races are part of the "Icicle Race Series".  The day sails are open to all sailors of all ages and experience levels, and are a great opportunity for anyone to get some sailing experience. Join us for a day sail on Galveston Bay, then head back to the porch and join us for some hot chocolate—or maybe an ice cold beverage.

2018 Dates:

January 6, 13, 20 & 27; and February 17

Schedule:

Check in: 10:00 a.m.

Depart: 10:30 a.m.

Start: 12:00 p.m.

Return: 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The start time allows South Coast Sailing to practice and have plenty of time before the race begins. Bring you own food and beverages to enjoy on board. Liquid trophies, a Cruzan Rum bottle, will be awarded with refreshments at the GBCA building in the Watergate Marina after the race. Everyone is welcome to join!
