Moody Gardens Labor Day Cruise

      Join us for an unforgettable sailing trip to Galveston Island!

Traditionally, Labor Day marks back-to-school days, the end of sumer and no more white shoes for the ladies.  We've partnered with the TMCA to give summer a big send-off with a sail to Galveston Island, overnight anchoring near Moody Gardens, and one last chance to be "nauti" in your white attire before fall officially starts.

This weekend trip offers the opportunity for a quick vacation close to home.  Sailors will benefit from opportunities to practice bareboat techniques such as provisioning, anchoring, dinghy operation, navigation of local waters, plus weather and chart review.  All guests will have the opportunity to attend the Moody Gardens Brewmasters Beer Festival, explore Moody Gardens, relax by the pool or beach, visit the Strand, and socialize at the Nauti White party.

Saturday, September 2

9:00 am Check-in followed by skipper & crew briefing at South Coast Sailing Adventures. The group will provision the boat and then depart for Galveston.

Afternoon Anchor in Offatts Bayou near Moody Gardens; explore Galveston Island, attend Moody Gardens' Brewmasters Beer Festival, relax by the pool or beach, etc. (Guests will travel from vessel to land by dinghy.)

6:00 pm TMCA-sponsored "Nauti White" Party begins with "docktails."  This all-white party, complete with white foods and drinks, encourages everyone to break the Labor Day rules and wear all white one last time this season.  Celebrate with BYOB white cocktails; our boat will bring white appetizers to share.

7:00 pm "Nauti White" Party continues with a potluck dinner.  Our boat will bring a white side dish and dessert to share.

Sunday, September 3

The party continues with a potluck breakfast on the dock; spend the day at your leisure.

Monday, September 4

Breakfast aboard the boat; depart for Kemah at approximately 9:30 am.

Bring your paddle boards, rafts or other water toys to explore and enjoy Offatts Bayou.

       *Moody Gardens offers 1- and 2-day passes for purchase; Taxi service is available to explore other areas of the island.

Club Members: $275 single; $400 double

Public: $350 single; $500 double

50% deposit due by 8/19/16; Balance due by 8/31/16

Late fees apply after 8/28/16
