STATE OF THE SHIN-NY STRATEGIC PLANNING UPDATE

In pursuit of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York’s (SHIN-NY) mission to ensure fast, secure, and accurate access to patient data across the state to support the “triple aim,” NYeC interacts with a diverse group of stakeholders, including regional health information organizations (RHIOs), government agencies and policymakers, health plans, providers, and consumers.  As Executive Director for the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC), Valerie Grey brings deep knowledge of these groups from her wide-ranging experience in both the public and private sectors.

Most recently, Val served as Executive Vice President for Policy for the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS); and, earlier in her career, led government affairs for a national health plan.  Over the course of a long and accomplished public service career, Val served in the New York State Governor’s Office as Director of State Operations, First Deputy Secretary to the Governor, and Assistant Secretary for Health and Human Services; and, for the New York State Department of Health, as Assistant Commissioner of Governmental Affairs.  In addition to her executive branch experience, Val held key executive leadership posts at the New York State Education Department, the New York State Comptroller’s Office, and the New York State Assembly Committee on Ways and Means.  Val holds a Masters degree in Economics from SUNY Albany.

The Project Advisory Committee’s (PAC) mission is to promote collaboration and support the goals, strategies, and initiatives among the SCC partners with respect to improving the health status of Medicaid and uninsured communities in Suffolk County.

We require partner organizations to send a managerial representative and workforce representative to the PAC meetings if they have 50+ employees (and if unionized, those workforce representatives must be union representatives). If your organization has fewer than 50 employees, please send at least one managerial representative.

Please register below and we look forward to seeing you at the Meeting!
