Training Institute provides phlebotomy training for CPT-1 licensure approved by California Laboratory Field Services.This 168-hour program exceeds state standards and provides 48 hours of theory and 120 hours of clinical rotation. Gain hands-on experience of at least 100 successful venipunctures, 25 skin punctures and 2 arterial-blood-gas observations. LOTTERY MAY BE NECESSARY DEPENDING ON AMOUNT OF STUDENTS WHO APPLY.

Program Requirements/Advisory Notes:

• Attend the mandatory orientation
• Background check, drug screen and immunizations (details at orientation)
• Have a current CPR Card (American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers)
• Participate in the lottery to be selected for the program (if required)
• The State of California may require criminal record clearance through fingerprinting when applying for licensure as a Phlebotomist
• A high school diploma or GED is required for licensure by the State
• This is a fee-based program that is not for college credit
