Basic G1000 Course at KAPA

Wednesday, February 20, 6:00pm-9:00pm

You have heard the buzz about the Garmin G1000 avionics suite, and how it has revolutionized the General Aviation cockpit by adding some phenomenal capabilities and improving the pilot's situational awareness. Here is your chance to learn all about it!

Aspen's Basic G1000 Course is designed for pilots who are new to the G1000, and who want to learn the basics. We will start at the beginning and introduce pilots to the basic G1000 display screens, and how the control knobs help you access different pages of information. You will also learn what softkeys are, and the basics of the G1000 user interface. This is an ideal course for pilots who are ready to transition from steam gauge aircraft to glass panel aircraft.

This is the first in a three-part series.

  • Basic G1000 Course - intro to screens, knobs, softkeys, and user interface. Prerequisite: none, beginners are welcome.
  • Advanced G1000 Course - dig deeper into functionality like VFR and IFR flight planning. Prerequisite: Basic G1000 Course.
  • Premium G1000 Course - a quick review followed by 1-on-1 time with an instructor in a simulator. Prerequisites: Basic and Advanced G1000 Courses.
