PrTh-Pb 6 “Church Practice—Preaching” 

This practice-based course will offer students the opportunity to appreciate preaching as a vital ingredient in Christian worship. 

Instructor: Rev. Dr. Susan Stonestreet

Bio: 

Rev. Dr. Susan Stonestreet earned her Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degrees from Bangor Theological Seminary in 1999 and 2007 respectively. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies from Miami University in Oxford which she earned in 1970. She was a Certified Financial Planner with American Express for fifteen years in Bradenton, Florida from 1980 through 1995. In her earlier life, she was the Executive Director of Together, Inc., a 24-your crisis intervention center in Oxford, Ohio. More recently, Susan taught preaching and reflective practice classes for Bangor Theological Seminary and then through MESOM of the Maine Conference, UCC. Most recently, after serving eighteen and a half years as the Pastor of United Christian Church in Lincolnville, Maine, Susan retired. Her spiritual passions are twofold: exploring the mysteries and lessons of the Scriptures, and sharing them with others through preaching, as she has the opportunity, and through pastoral conversation. She wonders at the eternal connections between the birds and us. Susan lives in Rockport, Maine with her life partner, Nance, and two dogs, Riley, a Standard Poodle and Tripp, an American Cocker Spaniel.
