Interactive Storytelling and the ENL/English Language Learner
Physicalizing language and exploring how interactive storytelling practices support the English Language Learner in developing fluency and vocabulary acquisition.
Earn a CUNY Certificate of Completion and CTLE Credit for Professional and Level III Teaching Assistant certificate holders.
Interactive Storytelling – creating opportunities for students to participate physically and verbally in a story– is a strategy that the CUNY-CAT Early Learning Program successfully utilizes in diverse early childhood classrooms to build emergent literacy skills, engagement, and whole group collaboration.
This workshop, which builds on Interactive Storytelling Parts 1 and 2, explores how interactive storytelling practices support the English Language Learner in developing fluency and acquiring vocabulary.

As with all CAT professional development sessions, attendees will reflect on their practice, collaborate with fellow educators, and discuss further application of these strategies across the curricula and with diverse populations.
