Keynote Speaker
Rev. Ronald Lewinski, STL
Author, National Speaker and Co-Director of the Department of Parish Vitality and Mission for the Archdiocese of Chicago
Pope Francis offers us a fresh vision of what it means to be a Baptized Christian and a Church that takes its missionary vocation seriously. Inspired by our Holy Father’s vision, we will look at the implications of Pope Francis’ teaching and preaching for the ministry of Christian initiation. What should we be considering in our preparation of candidates and catechumens for Christian initiation? What are the implications for our parishes in a fruitful implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults?
About Rev. Ronald Lewinski, STL: Fr. Lewinski was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1972. In his current role, he serves as the Archbishop’s Delegate for Parish Vitality and Mission. Prior to his current ministry, Fr. Lewinski served as the Pastor of St. Mary of the Annunciation Parish in Mundelein, where he built a new church and pastoral center and was instrumental in founding Frassati Catholic Academy, a regional Catholic Middle School in Lake County. Prior to these ministries, Fr. Lewinski served as an adjunct instructor at Mundelein Seminary and as the Director of the Office for Divine Worship. Fr. Lewinski is respected as a pioneer in the pastoral implementation of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and is an author and frequent speaker on liturgy and pastoral life around the country and internationally. He was awarded Pastor of the Year recognition by the NCEA in 2012.
