There will be a short called meeting of Presbytery on Tuesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charleston.
The Leadership Team has approved the request of the Trustees to have a called meeting of the Presbytery in order to act on the recommendation of the Trustees that the Presbytery act as a guarantor of a loan from the Presbyterian Investment & Loan Program to Bream Presbyterian Church for $349,000. The loan is primarily for replacing the roof on their entire facility.
The Presbytery Manual sets quorum for called meetings of presbytery for this purpose at 15% of the presbytery’s churches and 15% of the presbytery’s Ministers of Word & Sacrament. To fulfill the quorum requirement, there must be ruling elder commissioners from 19 churches and 17 Ministers of Word & Sacrament.
