This in-service training will provide an introduction into understanding how children’s oral health relates to overall health and development. The course will demonstrate how untreated dental disease will impact a child’s self-esteem, ability to learn, eat nutritious foods and sleep. Participants will develop an understanding on how to prevent dental disease in young children. Caregivers will learn techniques to begin teaching young children about their role in taking care of their oral health which include oral hygiene instruction and good nutrition while incorporating developmental goals for early education.
