Level 1: Beginning the Journey to Becoming a Transformational Leader 

Welcome!

We are excited to offer you this special invitation to join other ABFE members from across the nation to take your professional development to the next level.  Together we will learn and apply racial equity principles and leadership concepts as an intentional learning community.

Who is invited?
All ABFE members, including those from within our partner networks, such as:

• Individual donors from the Community Investment Network giving circles;
• ABFE Connecting Leaders Fellowship Program (CLFP) alumni; and
• Members of regional Black philanthropic associations.

What is the goal?
The goal is to establish a reliable network for exchanging resources, identifying self-defeating patterns and replacing them with ones that serve us. The premise is that sharing our experiences (learning together) deepens collective impact and sustains momentum.

• An introduction to leadership competencies, scenarios and skills
• Access to tools and frameworks
• Transformational leadership news and updates
• Whitepaper studies (leadership studies)
• Articles (leadership skills)
• Three leadership development salon calls (challenging issues/topics common to leaders) - could include invited guests from partner networks and training schools
• Access to one previously recorded Responsive Philanthropy in Black Communities (RPBC) webinar
• Special discounts to seasonal programming 

Dates and Discussion Topics
Each leadership development salon call will take place on the 2nd Thursday of each month:

• Transformational Leadership Information Session
  Thursday, January 8, 2015: 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET to 11:30 am PT/2:30 pm ET
  This session will help participants know what to expect from Level I: Becoming A Transformational Leader, as well as the full calendar of ABFE Leadership Development activities planned for 2015. 

• How to Be More Influential: Establish a Dynamic Leadership Presence
  Thursday, February 12, 2015: 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET to 11:30 am PT/2:30 pm ET
  This session will focus on  choosing language that supports bringing your best self to your everyday action.
   
• How to Face Fear and Uncertainty: Build Courage, Sharpen Focus, Be Powerful!
  Thursday, March 12, 2015: 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET to 11:30 am PT/2:30 pm ET
  This session will focus on becoming a better observer of how your body impacts how you show up. 
   
• How to Be Decisive: De-clutter Your Way to Clarity and Confident Decision-Making
  Thursday, April 9, 2015: 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET to 11:30 am PT/2:30 pm ET
  This session will focus on choosing the emotional response to scenerios that best serves you.
