WORKSHOP #4: WOMEN ONLY - CHAINSAW BASICS, Part 1

The Extension Forestry Program at UConn announces a year-long series of workshops for woodland owners and nature lovers. Welcome to Workshop #4: The basics of chainsaw safety and maintenance. In this class, you will learn about the parts of the chainsaw, personal protective equipment(PPE), the all-important safety check, routine maintenance, and how to properly file the saw.

Class size is limited to 10 students. If you own your own PPE and chainsaw, please bring both to the class. If not, several chainsaws will be on hand to share. Part 2 of the class will include heading into the field to fell a small tree. You must take class 1 to be part of class 2.
