Join afterschool professionals in Iowa from all areas and levels of expertise - administrators, directors, front-line staff, educators, out-of-school time partner organizations, and others - for our 5th Annual Conference. Child care credits available. 

School-age professional development conference and networking opportunity with statewide afterschool professionals and educators.

Topics to include creating safe and supportive learning environments, elementary and middle school literacy strategies, STEM, elementary poetry, and a lot more!

Pre-Conference I (10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) Session for 21st Century Community Learning Centers Directors (lunch served)

    

Pre-Conference Track II (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.): Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Interactive session. Attend this pre-conference and work with the Iowa Afterschool Alliance and the Active Learning Community Partners who will walk you through an evidence-based STEM lesson planning process step-by-step.

Keynote Speaker:

Simon Silva

 

Simon Silva knows firsthand the importance of education and is the only person in his family to graduate from college. One of eleven children in a family of field workers, he grew up as a migrant student and relied heavily on his artistic skills and interest to cope with what was, at times, a difficult childhood. Simon shares an insightful view of creativity while telling a compelling story of struggle and hope. Simon connects with audiences with a powerful message about perseverence and success.

The conference fee is $150 (includes the optional pre-conference if you choose to attend). If you are planning on attending the pre-conference, please indicate that during your registration process. If you are ONLY attending the pre-conference, there is only a $50.00 fee.

A range of exhibitors will be featured, include youth-serving organizations and statewide, afterschool partners!
