The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us run our River Field Trip Education Programs. If you’re interested in bringing youth together with nature by becoming an Education Docent, join us at this training to learn more about our 1st-5th grade River Field Trip programs.
This training introduces Education Docents to the River Field Trip Program offered by the River Parkway Trust and prepares them to assist with field trips at the River Center, Owl Hollow and Lost Lake Park. Field trips are typically 1st-5th grades, and take place between 9 am- 1 pm on weekdays. Education docents assist with field trips by leading an activity or assisting a staff member with an activity over the course of the trip.

Activities demonstrated during the training may be subject to change based on participants, upcoming field trip activities, etc.
The majority of the day will be spent at the River Center. For on-site demonstrations, we may move to Lost Lake Park or Owl Hollow (both nearby the River Center). Please dress appropriately and be prepared to spend the morning time outside, possibly walking on uneven terrain. Light refreshments/snacks will be provided.
