How to Tell Your Story and Fund Your Vision: A Community Action Fundraising Training

This workshop will examine forms of non-government-funding.

For Impact | The Suddes Group has spent over 30 years helping community agencies find and develop sustainable forms of funding. Through this work, and work with other agencies across the social sector, The Suddes Group has helped raise over $2Billion.

This workshop will share new ideas, practical tools, and frameworks to help you:

  • Tell a compelling funding story.
  • Simplify your message.
  • Find and engage with great leaders, prospects and champions.
  • Ask for funding.

This For Impact workshop will explore agencies’ message and key priorities – applying the For Impact principles across three modules: 1) Telling your story; 2) Funding models; and 3) Practical tools to engage funders. It is designed to deliver practical and proven frameworks to help you tell your story, develop your team, and transform funding results.

What to expect at a For Impact Experience:

  • The opposite of what you’ve come to dread from funding conferences and workshops.
  • Simple, usable stuff that you can use, whether you’re a senior leader, development staff, or volunteer leader.
  • Some polarizing thinking.
  • Value that goes beyond funding. We’re life entrepreneurs. While we want to create value in the form of funding results, there is a huge personal development theme to everything we do.
  • Not powerpoint … BUT lots of visuals.
  • Energy. Not in a ‘rah-rah’ way but in a ‘we-know-you-wear-52-hats-we’ve-been-there-we’ve-got-your-back’ way … with authenticity.
  • 1:1 Coaching and Follow-up. We use 1:1 engagement as much as we can during our Live Experiences. And our Boot Camps, workshops, and teleseminars offer opportunities for participants to follow-up with us for more 1:1 coaching around how to apply the frameworks and work through challenges.

Who should attend? This half day workshop is open to all OACAA members in good standing, though suggested attendees include those with development and/or communications responsibilities.

How much does it cost? This workshop is FREE to OACAA members in good standing.

When should I register? As soon as possible! This workshop is limited to only 30 people. Please note that while there is no charge to register, because of the limited number spaces, there will be a charge for no-shows and those who do not cancel before September 21, 2018.

Is lunch provided? You betcha! Be sure to let us know if you have any dietary restrictions when you regster.

The registration is already full. What should I do? Contact Jeannette Jarrett at jeanettee@oacaa.org and ask to be placed on the waiting list. We will contact you if a space becomes available.
