Soulful Healing Summer Series

On the Wings of Love: Navigating Grief as the Pathway to Grace

The third session in our healing summer series takes a look at grief as a pilgrimage of love.

On our journey through this life, we will all encounter grief. It can rear its head at many junctures; the loss of a loved one, the loss of a beloved pet, a divorce, a breakup, the loss of a job or home. Even events around us can trigger grief; a global pandemic, a national or international tragedy, civil unrest.

“Grief can be the garden of compassion. If you keep your heart open through everything, your pain can become your greatest ally in your life’s search for love and wisdom.”– Rumi

In this interactive workshop we will ask these questions:
  • What is grief?
  • How does it manifest in our lives?
  • What can we learn from it?
  • And can we navigate our way out of its depths by changing our view; no longer seeing it as an enemy, but instead as a steppingstone to catharsis and transformation?

We will view grief through several different lenses. From the grief rituals of ancient cultures to grief displayed in nature, from psychology to spirituality. And we will look at various methods of dealing with grief and helping others to cope. As a group we will discuss what has helped and hindered us on our own journeys through grief.

Renee will end the session leading us in a healing guided meditation designed to locate places in our body where we are may be holding onto or storing grief and giving ourselves permission to release or transmute it.
