Virtual College Essay Workshop (August 12 and August 19, 2021)

Good grades and test scores aren’t enough to land a spot at a top college, but a standout essay can send your application to the top of the pile. This workshop will allow students to brainstorm, write and refine essay that can be used with multiple applications. Students will draft a college application essay, receive personalized feedback and use feedback to revise and improve the essay.

Student must attend both sessions:

• August 12 - Session 1 (1:00 PM- 3:30 PM)
• August 19- Session 2 (1:00 PM-3:30 PM)

Workshop Agenda

• August 12- Session 1-Overview of the college application essays, essay brainstorming activity, understanding essay prompts and begin drafting essay.
• August 14- Essay Draft Due by 5:00 PM
• August 19- Session 2- Students will incorporate strategies/suggestions from essay draft evaluation.
• August 31- Deadline to complete Indiviudal Online Consultation.
