"Excellent news.  Dawn made it through the surgery with flying colors.  It took less time than expected.  Now for the recovery and to see where we go from here.  Here is what her daughter posted:

I am so so happy to report we just found out my Mom is already out of surgery and in recovery the doctors said it went successfully. It will be about 3 hours before she wakes up and we can see her again. Thank you all for the prayers we are so overjoyed, we know there is still a long road ahead but I truly believe the worst may be behind us now. God is looking over her and us!!"

Some have asked, "Are you still going to have the Spaghetti Dinner?"  My answer, "Yes, now more than ever it is needed."  The costs this family have incurred and will incur are staggering.  Thank you for all your support and let's enjoy some yummy food on Friday.

We had a set back.Dawn flew to San Diego to undergo treatment.  She collasped and was rushed to the hospital. Here is what her daughter posted:

"Update on the situation for all family and friends. There is 99% chance she will be having surgery tomorrow afternoon to help try to relieve the pressure and bleeding from the hemorrhaging tumors, this surgery is extremely dangerous and life threatening but so is her situation and we are left with no options, we are surrendering everything now into God's hands that he will keep her safe and alive through all of this. If she makes it through surgery she will not be able to travel for the next 3-4 weeks. The kids and I will be flying to San Diego at 8 am tomorrow, and my grandparents will be following at 1pm, all one way tickets. We won't know much more until we get there but thank you all for care and concern keep sending prayers for her."

2/2/2013:

Dawn's daughters and I decided to do a fundraiser to help their mother fight stage 4 melanoma cancer. We were discussing how last year was to be their last Christmas as a family.  Dawn decided that was not going to be the case and put up one mighty fight.  Little did we know then what fighting capabilities were tucked into such a petite little frame. If you don't know much about Dawn's story, she has 7 children~the oldest is young and married and the youngest is 6.  Her husband is a hardworking, loving father and husband.  The Dr.'s have all but given up on her ability to survive but we know, if there is a way, our Dawn will find it.  Dawn not only has submitted to traditional forms of cancer treatment but also some nontraditional.  Her family has been by her side and I can attest to the fact, they all have grown spiritually and mentally by leaps and bounds these past few years.  Dawn in particular has taken this challenge called C~A~N~C~E~R to learn whatever she feels the Lord has wanted her to learn.  Many lives have been changed by the words of wisdom Dawn so eloquently delivers via Facebook to all who desire to learn from her fight.  We look forward to having a great turnout for our Spaghetti Dinner/Bake Sale event @ Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins.  February 15th from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.
