Fire Safety Education for Preschool Children

2 hour training

Cynthia Ouellette from the State Dept. of Fire Services will increase your understanding of the preschool child’s perception of fire and the surprising frequency of children’s misuse of fire.  Participants will review the key causes of fire injuries and the role of children’s fire play.  Providers will learn practical, age-appropriate approaches to teach young children about fire safety information and skills.

All participants will receive a free “play safe! be safe!” kit. The presentation was developed by: Dr. Robert Cole, Fireproof Children Co. and has been adapted by the MA Department of Fire Services with permission.
