  Presenter:  Diana Comer, M. Ed

5 hour CEU

This training will address the developmental benefits of building structures with young children. .Participants will explore materials and accessories, which may be used to engage children in discovery and meaningful play with the processes of building structures.  Educators will explore their role in engaging children in both open-ended and focused play.   These activities cross over into other curriculum domains such as math, literacy, science, technology and engineering.  Explore ways to engage girls into block play and also set up your block area to address diversity.  This course will link concepts and activities related to building structures to the new Massachusetts Science, Technology and Engineering Guidelines for Pre-K & MA Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences.  This training is very interactive with hands-on-activities.
