Oceanic Ventures had its 20th birthday in December and we wanted to throw a party! Traditionally, January is sometimes cold and dreary but we believe that when you are a diver, everyday is a fiesta! To help keep you in that fun spirit, we are having a party and pig roast at Yelapa Playa Mexicana and you are invited to attend!

Yelapa is the vision of Chuck Bulines, who brought the fish taco to Houston with “The Original Berryhill Taco.” He is a veteran of the Houston restaurant scene for over 30 years. Yelapa opened one year ago and has been putting out Mexican food with a tropical twist. Voted the best Mexican restaurant 2010 by the Houston Press, Yelapa is a little oasis. You forget you are in Houston when you are swept away by the authentic tables and chairs, the music and lighting make you feel that you are in a resort on the coast.
Brett Story, former manager of the Reef, has been running the diving room since the restaurant opened its doors. With a variety of modern ceviches and different takes on old world presentations, Yelapa Is a great source of cool, eclectic, delicious food and wine. They also have a signature cocktail list and over 50 different tequilas for your drinking pleasure.
