Melissa Vela-Williamson, APR, is an award-winning communicator with over 16 years of general and multi-cultural integrated marketing experience in agency, corporate, and nonprofit settings. She serves clients of her own virtual agency: MVW Communications. Melissa’s a 360° communicator, but has a special expertise and accreditation in public relations.
During her career, she has directed public relations, marketing, advertising, and social strategy for over 65 organizations, including H-E-B, Alamo Colleges District, Meals-on-Wheels, Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas, Texas State University, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. She consults as a communication coach, writes a national column for the Public Relations Society of America, and is a frequent guest speaker at colleges across the country.
