San Antonio SCORE Event - Understanding Exempt and Non-Exempt Payroll Regulations

Please join us for this interesting workshop on Payroll Regulations.

The U.S. Department of Labor raises salary requirements for Exempt Employees on 01/01/2020. A minimum guaranteed salary of $35,568 will go into effect. There are five major exemptions to paying overtime after 40 hours per week, so it is important to know which jobs get overtime --- and which positions do not!

  • Minimum salary requirements go up 50% for Exempt employees.
  • What does a “Guaranteed Salary” actually mean?
  • 1.3 million more workers entitled to overtime pay in 2020
  • Can a Non-Exempt Employee be paid on a salary basis?
  • Do you really understand “Exempt” and “Non-Exempt” classifications?
  • Who are the “Highly compensated Employees”?
