27 August 2019: DPAAS Meeting Invitation

Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC) -- Designing the Future Force”

We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Harry Conley (GS-15), HQ USAF/A5R, Office of Aerospace Studies, will be our speaker at the 27 August (Tuesday) DPAAS meeting, 11:30-1:30 pm, 2800 Presidential Drive, Holiday Inn, Fairborn, Ohio. Harry will discuss “Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC)--Designing the Future Force”.

Abstract:  The 2018 National Defense Strategy calls for a re-imagined, dynamic Joint Force and a family of systems that is “more lethal, resilient, and rapidly innovating.” To transform at the pace necessary to meet the challenges of global competition, as well as operations in a denied environment, the Air Force must develop integrated concepts for how we fight across all domains, a future force design, and capability development guidance that more clearly links Strategy to Planning. We must then use each of these to drive the prioritization of resources to achieve the unified vision. The Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC) is how the Air Force will answer this challenge to rapidly evolve a more lethal force. Harry’s presentation will describe how the AFWIC meets this challenge.

Harry Conley is a Senior Operations Research Analyst with the Air Force Office of Aerospace Studies (OAS), Headquarters, US Air Force.  Harry supports a wide range of capability development analyses across the spectrum from early capability based assessments to analysis supporting acquisition programs of record.  He was a member of the core team that established the Air Force’s new Air Force Warfighter Integration Capability office, which is charged with designing the future warfighting capabilities of the United States Air Force.  Harry has 35 years of experience as an acquisition program manager and operations research analyst, including assignments at the Pentagon, Seoul, and Baghdad.  He has a BS in Operations Research from the Air Force Academy, and an MS in OR from Georgia Tech.  Harry believes the most important decisions must be based on a solid and unbiased analytic foundation.
