We are very pleased to announce that Ms. Jeanne Fox (HQ AFMC/A5R) will be our speaker at the 29 August 2018 (Wednesday) DPAAS meeting, 11:30-1:30 pm, 2800 Presidential Drive, Holiday Inn, Fairborn, Ohio. Ms. Fox will discuss “The View from AFMC Requirements Shop”.
Abstract: The weather from Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Requirements’ point of view is cloudy with chance of meatballs. The churning taking place within the Air Force capability development community is both an opportunity for great things to happen and an opportunity for confusion. Please join me for a frank discussion regarding the most current developments impacting AFMC capability development. We will discuss the recent SECAF Capability Development tasking to develop and implement a modern Air Force capability development model that leverages agile principles and includes integrating capability development and acquisition inputs into rapid prototyping; the Air Force’s Service Acquisition Executive’s recommended steps for incorporating rapid prototyping into acquisition; and the new Acquisition Process Model. Bring your questions and opinions as I update you on recent revisions to the JCIDS Manual and CJCSI 5123/3170, HAF/A5R Guidebooks, and the new Capability Development Strategy Review. Keep in mind I am not the weather maker, I just report the weather. No solutions will be offered. However, I hope to stimulate robust discussion so that I might learn from you and perhaps you might learn something new from me.
Note: Participation is limited to representatives of the United States Government and U.S. Defense Contractors. All representatives must be Citizens of the United States. DPAAS technical presentations may count toward Acquisition Continuous Learning (CL) Points – check with your supervisor!
Jeanne Fox is Chief of the Operational Capabilities Requirements Division (A5R) in the Headquarters Air Force Materiel Command Strategic Plans, Programs, Requirements, and Assessments Directorate. Jeanne is the Command focal point for operational requirements, life cycle management policy, and Program Management career management activities. She leads Command oversight, evaluation and management of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System requirements. She is responsible for formulating the AFMC corporate position for Air Force Capability Development Council decisions and for other General Officer/Senior Executive Service decision forums. She serves on the Program Management Intermediate Development Team where she assesses high potential program managers for career development opportunities and placement in key positions. She leads the facilitation of Command-level reviews of acquisition programs that have failed or indicate opportunity for enterprise improvement.
