31 May 2017: DPAAS Meeting Invitation

“Changing the Way the Air Force Does Business: Industry & Small Business' Role in Capability Development"

We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Christopher J. Ristich will lead the 31 May Air Force SDPE Workshop “Changing the Way the Air Force Does Business:  Industry & Small Business' Role in Capability Development.” Mr. Ristich is the Deputy Director for the Air Force (AF) Strategic Development Planning and Experimentation (SDPE) Office. Chartered by the Secretary of the Air Force (SECAF) and the Air Force Chief of Staff (CSAF), the SDPE Office is responsible for leading Air Force Strategic Development Planning to support the SECAF and CSAF in strategic decisions that guide the Air Force toward mission success today and in the future, within available funds and with acceptable risk.

RECOMMEND EARLY REGISTRATION – SEATING IS LIMITED

Over the last year, the Air Force has begun a significant evolution in the way they develop operational requirements by moving towards a multi-functional, plan-based methodology for Capability Development.  Senior leaders across the Air Force have recognized that Industry is and will continue to be instrumental to unlocking innovation and our future capabilities.  As part of this evolution, the Air Force Strategic Development Planning & Experimentation (AF SDPE) office was established and asked to tackle the challenge of how to have regular, open, and early engagements with industry.  AF SDPE has developed a comprehensive industry strategy that reaches out to large traditional contractors, non-traditional business, and small businesses alike.  This workshop will offer the opportunity for industry leaders to learn about their role in these processes, become knowledgeable on upcoming SBIR opportunities, and to ask questions, provide feedback, and make suggestions on how to best leverage industry moving forward.
