PWN MEETING:
Improv
Your Business: How Improv Skills can Give You an Edge at Work

Improvisers are skilled at observing, adapting, and creating with what is at hand to innovate new ideas, build with others, and communicate effective narratives. While the tools of "improv" are often associated with a hilarious comedy sketch or skillful jazz ensemble, they are equally useful in the business contexts. In this session, Andrew Chen will introduce us to some common tools used by improvisers that you can incorporate into your own skill set, including:
  • Be Present (and out of our own heads)
  • Tap Into Creativity (and build pathways for new ideas)
  • Listen (to get the most from your environment)
  • Collaborate and build with others (for truly shared projects)
  • Communicate effectively (through narrative and presentation)
Please note: This hour-long session will require participants to be engaged and interact, and involve standing and moving around. We would like everyone to participate and be comfortable, so please wear comfortable attire. If you may require additional physical assistance, please let us know ahead of time and we will do our best to accommodate you.
