 Promoting Positive Child Outcomes through Responsive Caregiving and Continuity of Care in Infant/Toddler Programs

The Region V Office of Head Start in collaboration with the National Center on Early Childhood Development, Teaching and Learning and STGi Region V Training and Technical Assistance System will provide a two-day institute focusing on infant toddler development and learning. This institute is geared towards Early Head Start program leaders; including Education Managers, Child Development Specialists and coaches. Participants will be provided frequent opportunities to reflect on how to support the professional development and skill building of classroom teachers, family child care providers and home visitors around promoting positive outcomes for very young children.

  • Effective Practice: Responsive Caregiving in Infant Toddler Settings
  • Knowing Infants and Toddlers
  • Responsive Adults Help Infants and Toddlers Master the Goals of the HSELOF
  • Observation and Ongoing Assessment
  • Effective Teaching Practices
  • Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers

 Who Should Attend?

  • Grantees are encouraged to send a team of up to two participants in supervisory roles;  registration is limited to two individuals per grantee. The maximum participation for the event is 100. This training is open to grantees in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana and slots are designated by state – if a state exceeds their maximum, registrants will be placed on a wait list and notified of status.

Ohio has been allotted 40 registration slots.
