Independent Contractor or Employee

Do you know the difference?

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the IRS are stepping up enforcement of worker classification regulations, and in today's part-time "gig economy" it may be harder than ever to avoid penalties.

Proper classification of a worker as an independent contractor may save your company money and benefits - like group health and workers' compensation insurance - as well as social security and unemployment insurance taxes. A HR professional will help you learn how to classify employees with confidence and avoid regulatory risk

Attend Our Free, Local Seminar

  • The current DOL definitions of independent contractors and employees
  • Employer (business owner) responsibilities as they apply to the different types of workers
  • Methods of determining worker classification
  • Misclassification concerns and consequences
  • Common misclassification mistakes

Workshop Fees: Workshop is free and a box lunch will be provided.
