Join us Thursday September 15th for a meeting of our newly formed Structural Engineering Institute at Rowan University's Tech Park in Mullica Hill. The presentation will cover guiding principles of New York State Department of Transportation’s infrastructure investment and decision making and their application to Bridge Asset Management. We will also discuss the ongoing rehab of a mile-long elevated structure carrying the Major Deegan Expressway near Yankee Stadium. This meeting will qualify for 1.5 PDH's.
Please note that the formation of a new structural Engineering Institute will help boost the activities, related to structural engineering in South Jersey. All members and non-members are invited to attend.
The presentation will cover guiding principles of New York State Department of Transportation’s infrastructure investment and decision making and their application to Bridge Asset Management. The discussion will include: Collection of reliable bridge condition data, studying deterioration trends and predicting future conditions; establishing priorities regarding various treatment options including bridge replacement and rehabilitation, deck replacement, corrective repairs, preventive (cyclical) and emergency maintenance; relating repair cost with various levels of deterioration and examples of conditions and applied solutions.
