Canvas Certification 7/14/16 

Hands-on workshop to learn skills for using the Canvas course management system. This workshop is a face-to-face orientation to our Canvas Certification training course site.

Make sure to bring your username and password that you use to log in to MyPortal because you will need them to log in to Canvas.

1) During the 3 hour face-to-face session, you will -

• become familiar with the contents of the Canvas Certification training course site
  
• complete some of the required assignments to demonstrate your skills in a Practice site

2) On your own time (1 - 3 hours), you will -

• take self-assessment quizzes about using Canvas
• complete the remaining required assignments
• submit your Practice site for review

• Introduction to Canvas
• Organizing your Course
• Communicating with Students
• Assessing Students
• Managing the Gradebook

In order to receive Canvas Certification, you must complete all quizzes and complete all assignments in your Practice site.

2. Laying the Foundation
3. Create an Assignment Group, a Quiz, and a Discussion
4. Create a Module
5. Clean up site and view it as a student
6. Add an Announcement
7. Take your quiz and grade it
