Listening - It's VERY Professional!

It’s estimated that business professionals misinterpret the intended meaning of what they hear in about 70% of all communications.  They hear the words… but likely miss the meaning or apply their own interpretation (which may be different than the sender's message)!

In the business environment, effective LISTENING is one of the most valuable business skills.  According to a joint study by the United States Department of Labor and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) titled “Workplace Basics,” we use the skill of listening in over 55% of what we do each and every day.

Ironically, we receive the least training and education in this critical business skill area.  The average American’s level of listening efficiency is only about 25%.

This half-day highly interactive (and enjoyable!) workshop provides an opportunity for participants to learn about their preferred listening style(s).  Participants markedly improve their listening skills while, at the same time, help co-workers and customers to want to listen more closely to them.

Of all the things that customers and employees most value when interacting with entrepreneurs, it is one’s ability to demonstrate good listening.  Simply speaking, the best listeners always make a positive impression.

There is a $20 fee for this workshop payable to the workshop leader for a Listening Skills Profile that you will receive as part of this workshop.

Robert C. Schaumann's decade of professional sales experience is complemented by twenty years as training and communications skills manager, marketing manager, and sales manager for a Fortune 50 company.  He has been a consultant with the Keene chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) since 2014, providing no-cost consulting expertise for local entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Over the years in his practice as a sales training and marketing consultant, Bob’s “can do” attitude has been reflected in his many successful training and business development initiatives with major corporations and their channel partners.  His focus on performance enhancement and greater personal productivity that increased clients' "bottom line" resulted in workshops in countries such as England, India, Dubai, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, and others.
