Artist to Artist Meeting: Giving Tuesday

Tuesday, December 2nd, 4 - 5:30 pm

Join Arts Alive and the Hannah Grimes Center and learn about Arts in Health initiatives and the potential role for artists and arts organizations in New Hampshire.

Catherine O’Brian, Arts in Health Coordinator for the NH State Council on the Arts, and Emily Mills, a pianist, and certified music practitioners (CMP) at Concord Hospital and in other health care settings will lead the discussion.

The presentation will focus on the NH State Council on the Arts’ programs and services, which include Arts in Health Grants - a juried Directory of Arts in Health Artists, a statewide listserv and consulting assistance.

They will touch on six aspects of Arts and Health:

  • patient care;
  • healing environments;
  • caring for caregivers;
  • community well-being;
  • education;
  • plus, the growing field of Creative Aging.

Emily Mills will share information about the Music for Healing and Transition (MHTP) certification program for musicians. The session will include visual images and some time for Q & A.

Essential take-aways for this session include how to qualify and sign up for the database and how to apply for funding.

Cost: free. Registration is appreciated.
