Southern Branch

September Luncheon Meet and Greet
Prior to our September Luncheon, the Southern Branch Board invited leaders from our local public entities to attend a “meet and greet” in order to promote the benefits of APWA programs to their respective agency and to garner ideas to increase public participation from the entity leaders.  This event was highly successful and we look forward to implementing some of the ideas that were provided.   The Southern Branch would like to thank the attendees for taking the time out of their busy schedules to support the organization and provide such valuable input.

The October 3rd luncheon will have Al Jackowiak from the City of Henderson discussing the new Parking Lot and Detention Basin guidelines that have been recently included in the Clark County Regional Flood Control District’s Hydrologic Criteria and Drainage Design Manual.

October Family Picnic
Mark your calendars to Annual Family Picnic Sunday October 6th at Mt. Crest Park from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.  The APWA Southern Branch is joining forces with ASCE to provide a fun-filled event for members and families.  Famous Dave's is catering.  DJ Mike Pacini will be spinning the tracks.  The Young Professionals will take on the Senior Members in another exciting game of kickball. There are several activities are planned to keep you and your family entertained throughout the afternoon.

Northern Branch
The 6th Annual “End of Summer BBQ” for APWA Nevada Northern Branch was once again a great success. The event was held on August 15th and was
sponsored by Harris & Associates and Terracon, who have proudly sponsored the event every year since its inception in 2008. Branches very own “Chef Extraordinaire” Ed Cook, provided an exceptional Tri-Tip BBQ with all the trimmings again this year. He finds a way to make it better every year!
